Today, Piney Acres Farm not only offers a one of a kind Christmas experience, but also grows over 15 acres of corn and pumpkins during the fall season. Families can enjoy a wide variety of fall activities including Hay Rides, Pumpkin/Gourd Picking, Corn Mazes, Farm Demonstrations and much more.
As a young boy, Piney Acres Farm owner and founder, Rex Zenor, having often visited his uncle’s farm, wanted to follow in his footsteps. He dreamed that he too would have his very own farm. Christmas time always had a special place in the heart of young Rex. He loved the idea of families coming together for the holiday, the beautiful snow as far as the eye could see and the warmth of a cozy little home where families grew closer.
After the birth of his first daughter, the word “family” took on a whole new meaning for him. One of his favorite memories of raising his daughter was going to the local tree lot to pick out the perfect Christmas tree for the holidays. And that’s where his dream of owning a farm took a turn from the more traditional farm he was used to, and became a dream of having a Christmas Tree Farm where families could share his memory of picking out that perfect tree with loved ones during the most wonderful time of the year.
Through the years to follow, Rex worked hard to save enough money saved up from owning and operating his own construction company and snow removal businesses and purchased a 73-acre property outside of Fortville, IN. This is where his dream began to take shape. With a lot of hard work, research and the help of his family, he was able to open the farm to the public in 2005 and watched his dream of Piney Acres Farm become reality, a place… “Where Memories Are Grown-One Tree At A Time.”
